Favorites and local storage
When you save a line, joke, caption, or team name, this site stores that selection in your browser’s local storage under the key gpl-picks-v1. It helps the shortlist remain available when you move between articles or return in the same browser.
The tools do not send that shortlist to our server, and another device will not automatically have a copy. You can remove individual items or use Clear All in My Shortlist. Clearing this site’s browser data also removes the list. If browser storage is unavailable, the tools use a temporary list for the current visit.
Caption and meme tools
Text entered into the caption finder and meme studio is processed in the page. The studio draws the preview and creates PNG or JPG downloads in your browser. If you choose or drop a photo, it stays in this page’s memory and is not uploaded to our server. Refreshing the page clears the selected photo. The studio does not publish a gallery.
Copy uses your browser’s clipboard capability when you press Copy. If permission is unavailable, the page offers text you can select and copy yourself. A download creates a file on your device.
Contact messages
If you use the Contact form, we collect the name, email address, topic, and message you submit. Messages are stored privately in WordPress so site administrators can review and answer them. Notifications are addressed to [email protected] and may pass through the site’s email service and Gmail. Contact details are not published in a public directory or gallery.
We use this information to handle the request and administer the site. Keep sensitive personal information out of a message. To ask about a message or request its removal, email [email protected]. The hosting infrastructure also processes ordinary request information and security logs as described below.
Ordinary website requests
Visiting any page sends ordinary request information to the hosting infrastructure, such as an IP address, browser information, requested URL, and time. The site is hosted on Cloudways and its domain is managed through Cloudflare. Hosting and security logs may be retained according to those services’ settings. We do not state a specific retention period without verifying it.
Accounts, cookies, and embeds
WordPress uses cookies for administrators who sign in. The public launch does not require visitor accounts, run a newsletter signup, embed social feeds, or include an advertising or analytics tracker installed by us. If we add services that change how visitor information is handled, we will update this page.
Managing your choices
Use My Shortlist to inspect and clear saved items. You can also manage this site’s stored data through your browser settings. This page describes the site’s launch features; it does not control separate browser extensions, external sites you choose to visit, or files you choose to share after downloading.
